William M. Fischer, J.D.

Bill Fischer currently serves as the Associate Dean for Student Conduct & Risk Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he is responsible for directing and supervising the judicial and mediation programs as well as a number of risk management related initiatives for the Division of Student Life. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the graduate school of both Northeastern University and Suffolk University. His prior experience includes serving as the Director for the Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution at Northeastern University from 2000-2004, Associate Director of Student Life for Judicial Programs at the University of New Hampshire from 1998-2000, and serving as the Assistant Director of the Student Judicial Office at Illinois State University from 1997-1998. Prior to his tenure in higher education, Bill was a principal in the law firm of Matthews White & Fischer in Morristown, New Jersey for approximately ten years. Bill earned his B.A. degree from Villanova University and his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is a trained mediator.

As a consultant, Bill does extensive work in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs on integrity in legal, educational, and other organizational settings. As part of that work, he also offers seminars and workshops on conflict management and mediation training.
